Every client and every portrait is different and individual requirements vary - but it is hoped that the following guidelines will help prospective clients to gauge the likely costs. There is no commitment involved in asking for a quotation and this is a spamfree site so your emails will not be used by anyone other than the artist or agent (and then only strictly for discussion of any painting under consideration).

Portraits
Oil Portraits on Canvas from photographs...
The size of the canvas matters less when costing than the subject matter. A simply treated head and shoulders costs less than a painting with elaborate fabrics, ornamentation and background detail. For this reason the following quotes apply to minimum and most commonly requested requirements.
c. 41 x 33cms - Head & Shoulders on canvas. from € 1200.
c. 61 x 50cms - Suitable for a life size head & shoulders and also the smallest canvas size suitable for a three quarter figure. Although the head would be less than life size there is likely to be more detail (rings on fingers for instance) and the cost would be from € 1800.
A double portrait would add 50% to the price.
The fee for a full length portrait, or for Studio painted portraits from life, can only be assessed when the requirements are known ... please contact the agent

No Obligation Quotation
Email art@telier.co.uk with your requirements ... and you will receive a no obligation quotation with an estimated completion date (from one to six months) according to the complexity of the picture you have requested.
As painting doesn't start until a 30% deposit is made, you have no commitment to proceed, even though photos may have been sent to the artist or agent.
Before the remaining 70% needs to be paid, a photograph of the finished piece will have been supplied and even at this stage there is an opportunity to have minor alterations made. Only when the artist is satisfied that you are happy with the finished work will it be shipped. At this stage, the remainder of the fee is payable, again to the agent.
A two week no obligation grace period is normally applied after delivery - if dissatisfied within that time and the artwork is returned in the same condition it was sent, an 85% refund can be requested, 15% is retained to cover administrative costs
